Dominoes

about

As an immigrant, an introvert, and a woman in the male-dominant world, I often feel I don't fit into society. I wrote this song to encourage people to have faith in themselves, focus on their journey, and navigate their own way to success. It's only a matter of time until we get to wherever we want to be. I describe Dominoes as the social game, it's the smart tactical game that people play but I choose to play it the fun way by lining up the tiles and watch them collapse.

Dominoes celebrates everyone who feels lost in this time of mass confusion. The song is an anthem for people who are full of self-doubt and uncertainty. It calls for people to embrace their struggles and enjoy the journey to their unique destinations.

lyrics

They all know how to play this game
But you know no one cares about how we feel
Off we go to make our Legacy
We line up dominoes through the crowd

We will find our path when the time comes
We will find our path when the time comes

I follow you on this journey
Where the tiles fall, separate from all others
We build our own roads
Stacking stones on the way that they won’t touch

We will find our path when the time comes
We will find our path when the time comes

We will find our path when the time comes
We will find our path when the time comes
We will find our path when the time comes
We will find our path when the time comes

Her bushfire tribute Garden of Eden was aired on triple J and received a 4.5 stars review from Nkechi Anele, who said: ‘Kim Yang is a force of nature, and she humbles me’
